CarsGadgetPrivacy & cookies
Short version: we use cookies and similar tools to run the store and to understand how it is used. Some of them belong to us, some to Google, Yandex and Meta. We never sell your data. Below is exactly what happens in your browser.
What we store in your browser
| Cart | One number kept in local storage under cg_cart, so your cart survives moving between pages. It never leaves your device. |
|---|---|
| Visit id | A random identifier kept in local storage under cg_anon_id, so repeat visits from the same browser count as one person and not five. It is a random number, not your name. |
| Our own analytics | Pages you open, kits you look at and orders you place are recorded on our own server, so we know which kits people need. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Measures visits, traffic sources and purchases. Sets its own cookies (_ga and similar) and receives your IP address, which Google shortens before storing. |
| Yandex Metrica | The counter that has been on this site since the Tilda days. Measures visits and clicks and can record how a page was scrolled. |
| Meta pixel | Tells us whether a visit came from a Facebook or Instagram ad and whether it ended in a purchase, and lets us show ads to people who have visited the site. |
Third parties that load with the page
| Google Fonts | The typeface is served from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives the request for the font file. |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Card details are typed into a field served by Stripe and go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number. |
| Product photos | Served from this site itself. No third-party image network is involved. |
| YouTube | Install videos load only after you press play. Until then you see a still image and YouTube receives nothing. When you do press play we use the no-cookie player domain. |
What we do with an order
The email, address and phone you type at checkout are stored with the order so we can ship it, answer questions about it and handle a warranty claim. We do not sell them and do not pass them to anyone except the carrier that delivers your parcel and Stripe, which processes the payment.
Turning the tracking off
Your browser can block cookies for this site, and a "Do Not Track" or ad-blocking extension will stop the Google, Yandex and Meta tools from loading. Nothing on the site stops working without them. To have us delete what is stored about you, write to the address below.
